About the Recipe
This sandwich changed my life. That's not some crazy clickbaity way of me telling you it's delicious, because I'm not even talking about the flavor yet. The first time I posted a video of this sandwich, it was one of my first well performing videos. It gave me the confidence to keep making videos, and pursuing content creation as a full time passion. So, if this video had never happened, I might not have ended up here which is kinda wild.
It's unlikeyl that making this sandwich will lead you down a path where making sandwiches on the internet becomes your full time job, but it's not impossible, so you might as well try. That, and this sandwich is really delicious so you will be happy either way.
Buffalo Chicken Grilled Cheese Sandwich
Ingredients:
2 Slices of Sourdough Bread
3-4 oz Cheddar Cheese
1-2 oz Muenster
2 tsp of Mayonnaise (1 tsp per slice of bread - use on the inside of the sandwich)
2 oz of Cooked Chicken Thigh (approximately half of a chicken thigh)
2 tbsp of Buffalo Sauce
1 light dusting of Garlic Powder
1 tbsp of Olive Oil for Toasting
Instructions:
Begin by toasting the inside of two pieces of sourdough using olive oil. I typically toast my sandwiches in a pan, but if you have a panini press, you can use that alternatively by stacking the two pieces of bread on top of eachother so the insides are facing outward and then toasting.
Once toasted, add the mayo to the toasted sides of the bread, and then sprinkle on the garlic powder.
Thinly slice or grate your cheese (smaller pieces melt easier and more evenly), and add it to the sandwich. Depending on your bread size, you may need more or less cheese than recommended. I'd recommend adding half of your cheese to each side of the sandwich so the chicken will be surrounded by cheese in the final product.
If your cooked chicken is cold/refrigerated, reheat it in a pan. This will help the cheese melt in the time it takes to toast the bread. Once the chicken is hot, slice it and add to the sandwich.
Add the buffalo sauce on top of the chicken.
Close the sandwich and toast over a low heat, flipping the sandwich periodically to ensure it doesn't burn. Once the cheese is fully melted, and the bread is golden brown, you are ready to enjoy!
Optional - pursue a career in making sandwiches on the internet
