I know it sounds crazy... but once you try it, I think you will understand that this combo doesn't just work, it's really really good.

About the Recipe

Don't you hate it when recipes start with someone's entire life story... yeah me too. I'm never gonna do that. This food is good. You will probably like it.

Cinnamon Grilled Cheese

Ingredients:

  • 2 Slices of Sourdough Bread

  • 3-4 oz Cheddar Cheese

  • 1-2 oz Swiss or Gruyere Cheese

  • 2 tsp of Mayonnaise

  • 1 pinch to 1 tsp of Cinnamon

  • 1 tbsp of Olive Oil for Toasting

Instructions:

  1. Begin by toasting the inside of two pieces of sourdough using olive oil. I typically toast my sandwiches in a pan, but if you have a panini press, you can use that alternatively by stacking the two pieces of bread on top of eachother so the insides are facing outward and then toasting.

  2. Once toasted, add mayo to the toasted side, and then sprinkle on some cinnamon. The quantity is entirely up to you, but don't be shy. Start with a few pinches of cinnamon until the mayo is lightly dusted.

  3. Thinly slice or grate your cheese (smaller pieces melt easier and more evenly), and add it to the sandwich. Depending on your bread size, you may need more or less cheese than recommended.

  4. Close the sandwich and toast over a low heat, flipping the sandwich periodically to ensure it doesn't burn. Once the cheese is fully melted, and the bread is golden brown, you are ready to enjoy!

I'm so excited to see the recipe for this grilled cheese by Chef Tyler on his new website. When I saw this combination in his videos I had to try it and I think these flavors are fantastic together! I also started experimenting with these flavors and found that curry spices combined very well with the sandwich. This is now my go-to Grilled Cheese sandwich!!!

Tyler, you have inspired me to experiment with dishes and have therefore made my lunches a million times better. Your videos are one of the few that actually make me happy when I come across them while scrolling. Never stop doing what you love!
